Speaking In Tongues

Apostle i have noticed recently that every time im doing worship i have the urge to speak in a different language-which is reffered to as holy ghost tongues but the thing is every time it happens i try my best to turn it off because i feel what if it's not really from God and maybe im just making it up or something.b/c im only 19 and i thought it usually only happens 2 adults.or those who r spiritually grown..how do i know that it's really from God.....

Age has nothing to do with ability. Besides man's age and his strength does not impress JESUS. What impresses the Lord is those who fear him and hope in his mercy. If your tongues come during worship of JESUS, then it should be safe. Don't let the value system of this world affect your spiritual thinking and growth. You are very fortunate to have such a gift at this young age, don't bury it. Maybe it is an indication of the powerful walk you shall have in the years to come. So Let Flow, let if low, let it flow.

As I said your are fortunate to have such a gift. I am not as fortunate as you, All my "tongues" experience have been out of church. Once i woke up speaking in togues after dreaming i was preaching. I think I am not willing to let myself go in a church setting like that. But I guess as you grow your gift will develop. Don't worry about it, it is a good, sign, a sign that you believe in The Son of the Living God.

Damian has done an excellent job with his explanation, concerning the present experience that you are having. To take it a step further, I want you to know that tongues is a language, a manner of speaking. Language is a craft. The nature of a craft is that the more you practise it, it is the more proficient you get at it. Do that and you will find that eventually more words and expressions will be added to it. Notice a child, at first, uses the same word for almost everything, but as she grows older, more vocabulary is added to her treasury of words. So, is it with tongues. So, go ahead, worship the Lord in tongues. Keep repeating what comes to your spirit until you begin to flow like a river. I prophesy that you will begin to flow prohetically in the gift of interpretation of tongues. I can feel it! Say Lord I receive it, right now!

thnks alot Apostle n Damian ur advice has really helped me alot...i noe if i continue yielding 2 the spirit my relatinship with God will only get stronger...and yes apostle I DO RECEIVE IT....

my question actually is how do you get the gift of tongues? I know that you have to have a relaionship with God. but do you have to be born again and for how long? because I was baptised in March I have spoken in tongues once since then but never again. what does that mean?
